Work Experience

Get Employed and Stay Employed.

The Work Experience Program (WEP) helps people gain experience, find full-time employment and become self-sufficient by linking you with local businesses in need of labor resources.  It is a component of the Ohio Works First (OWF) initiative of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.

Recipients and businesses both benefit from participation in the Work Experience Program. Employers who take advantage of this program are not subject to workers compensation claims or unemployment insurance.  Many companies utilize this program as an extended interview opportunity, externship, or just a way to determine if the person placed at the company is the right fit for long-term employment.

In our 7th year of partnering with the Ashland County Department of Job and Family Services, Transformation Network has placed nearly Factors that lead to a job150 people into full-time jobs. While it is certainly important to find jobs for the unemployed and the dependent, it is even more important to help keep people employed. This philosophy has helped us keep 60% of all those gaining employment through the WEP program off of welfare.

Transformation Network's goal is for each OWF recipient to gain full-time employment, either with the company worked for in the WEP Program, or through individual efforts using the skills gained in TN's classes.
